TYPES OF HEAT ENGINE

   TYPES OF HEAT  ENGINE-

1-EXTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

2-INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE 

EXTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE --:       

Which engine combustion chamber look outside that’s type of engine called external combustion engine. Like as steam engine. 

INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE --:

Which engine combustion chamber inside of the engine this type of engine Called internal combustion engine. 

AS PER CYLINDER NUMBER -----

Single cylinder engine & malty cylinder engine .

SINGLE CYLINDER ENGINE—

An engine which has only one cylinder is called single cylinder engine. But single cylinder engine cannot develop more power it is mostly  used in two wheeler. Pump set . hand tractor. Etc

MALTY CYLINDER ENGINE—

These engine have more than one cylinder . like as two or thre  cylinder engine mostly used in car tractor trailer etc. multy cylinder engine  give smoother engine operation .

 

AS PER CYLINDER ARREGMENT----

----Inline engine , ‘v’ shape engine, ,horizontal engine , vertical engine. Opposed engine, radial engine .

INLINE ENGINE –

In this type the cylinder are arranged in one line. There the crank shaft are longer then the    other types of engine . mostly vehicle are used inline engine.

“V” SHAPE ENGINE –

In this type the cylinder are arranged in v shape at an angle of usually 60* degree this engine is most economical and compact. for malty cylinder engine the crank shaft are shorter then the  in line engine . it have  smooth starting sound .The engine hight also less then in line engine

HORIZONTAL ENGINE – 

Which engine mounted on vehicle chassis horizontally and which engine piston move horizontally that’s call horizontal engine. Now days mostly used in vehicle horizontal engine.

VERTICAL ENGINE—

Which   engine  fitted vehicle chassis vertically & wich engine piston move ment bvertically this type of engine called  vertical engine. That’s type of enginee mostly used in two-wheeler

OPPOSED ENGINE –

In this type the cylinder are arranged opposite to each other  and it fitted horizontally. This  provides  better mechanical balance .  this type of engine can run smoothly  evean at a lenth of the engine incrise too much and engine  has to be placed in the transverse direction in the vehicle .

RADIAL ENGINE –

In this type the  cylinder are b arranged  really . this type of engine is shorter  lighter  more rigid  since  it is rigid  a higher engine speed is possible and a higher  combustion  presser can be obtain this lids to high full efficiency the redial type engine are4 used mostly  in airplanes.
