'Roxor' Mahindra unveils new off-road vehicle in the US

Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA) on Saturday held the public unveiling of ROXOR, a new off-road vehicle for the other international markets.
The new off-roader creates a new sub-category in the side-by-side Powersports segment and Mahindra has also launched a new Powersports dealer network for its distribution in North America.

The Roxor signifies Mahindra’s commitment to introducing its tough, no-nonsense automotive heritage to the consumers in the North American market, the company said in a statement.

Unlike the plastic-bodied, belt-driven vehicles long accepted in the side-by-side category, Roxor offers a simple, hard-worn approach, featuring a steel body on a boxed steel frame. Moreover, a heavy-duty Mahindra turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine -- mated to an automotive style five-speed manual transmission -- propels the tough off-roader.

The design of the vehicle demonstrates that Mahindra intends to stay true to its roots of industrial-grade construction and durability that began 70-years ago with a license to build Willys vehicles for the Asia region.

The Roxor signifies Mahindra’s commitment to introducing its tough, no-nonsense automotive heritage to the consumers in the North American market, the company said in a statement.

Speaking at the launch Rick Haas, President and CEO - Mahindra Automotive North America said that the response for the Roxor from the company's newly appointed dealer body has been really outstanding.

“Mahindra’s 70-year automotive history has been forged by making authentic, rugged, purpose-driven vehicles; ROXOR is the embodiment of this history and our brand,” Dr Pawan Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, said while unveiling of the Roxor.
